Twelve Days of Christmas

Don’t miss out this Festive season on the fabulous “Twelve Days of Christmas” specials in store at Hirsch’s Centurion.

Every day dawns with a new special!

Today, on the 15th of December – all products are being sold less 15% - a HUGE Saving.

Kiddies Cupcake Decorating Event

On Saturday 13 December Hirsch’s Centurion, in association with Whirlpool held a Kiddies Cupcake Decorating event at the store.

After baking some delicious cupcakes in the impressive Whirlpool Jet Chef, the children had free reign to decorate them.  Delicious icing, smarties, jelly-tots, sprinkles, chocolate vermicelli, marshmallows and edible glitter all added to the “more-is-more” theme of the event. (as opposed to “less-is-more”)

Not only did the children have a wonderful time decorating the cupcakes – in the spirit of Christmas and Giving, they also had the opportunity to offer their cupcakes to some unsuspecting but delighted Christmas Shoppers.

All in all, a very successful event – both parents and children agreed that we need to repeat this event regularly.

A big thank you goes to Tiaan and Whirlpool, and all the staff who contributed to the success of the day.

AUNTY PAM - BAKING HER WAY TO A FRUITFUL CHRISTMAS!

Beatrice Grobler, a customer who regularly attends Hirsch Centurion’s Networking Functions recently approached the company to enquire about a discounted price for an oven she wanted to buy for  Pamela Nel – better known to all as “Aunty Pam” - a wonderful lady in her seventies, who bakes rusks and fruit cakes for a living.

Beatrice regularly buys rusks from her and this is how she came to hear that Aunty Pam’s oven was not working properly, which meant that she could only bake small quantities at one time.

Beatrice, who is also in the same church as Aunty Pam, immediately started collecting from the congregation to buy a new oven. When COE of Hirsch’s, Margaret Hirsch, heard of this, she immediately agreed to a greatly discounted price on an oven.

Aunty Pam was over the moon to receive her new Defy Oven, and shed tears of gratitude thanking everybody who had contributed to her dream oven. She can now continue, full speed ahead, with her home-based-baking-business.

Happy Baking Aunty Pam!

Christmas Cooking Demonstration

Hirsch Centurion was the first of the Gauteng stores to host the Christmas Cooking Demo with Hirsch’s very own “guest” chef – Warren Pearce.

Our customers were treated to Warren’s very own brand of humour, while being taught how to successfully cook Christmas Mince Pies as well as Beef Wellington.

Terry from Zwilling demonstrated the knives and superb pans and also assisted during the Demonstration.
Only crumbs and dirty dishes were left over at the end of the event – everybody agreeing that they would most definitely try out the recipes.

A BIG thank you to Warren for his professionalism and all the hard work that went into ensuring our demonstration was a huge success.

We will be running similar Cooking Demonstrations in the future – at no cost to our valued Customers.

Hirsch’s Centurion supports CANSA

Sport against Crime in collaboration with the SAPS and Tshwane Metro Police had a fundraising and visibility project in aid of CANSA  at the Centurion Lifestyle Centre today.

Hirsch’s Centurion assisted and supported the venture by identifying two “victims” who were “arrested and jailed” in a mobile prison cell by the SAPS.  Two “victims” were identified by Manager Malcolm Chetty – and were duly “charged”, “jailed” and “fined”– once the fine had been paid, the “victims” were released and received a certificate of participation.

The nominated Hirsch’s “victims” were Samantha Govender and Shalin Subban –  Inspector Potgieter from the Metro Police was their Arresting Officer –  it was all taken in good fun – and for a worthy cause.
