Hirsch’s Centurion recently hosted their
monthly Business Networking Event with Guest Speaker Ockert Möller from the Institute of
Human Development
speaking
on the importance of effective networking.
“Ockert touched on strategic positioning –
being able to “explain who you are” in such a manner that people want to
connect with you. Some of the questions that your listener will be interested in are:
·
Who are you (do I
know, like, trust you)?
·
What do you have (is
it “shiny and new” or is it “old and dull”)?
·
Why should I care
(will it really work for me)?
He explained that for an
Entrepreneur the most important thing is to get started – “you don’t have to be
great to get started, but you have to get started to be great” he explained.
The Event was attended by over
50 business people, who were given the opportunity to present their business in
30 seconds.
Afterwards there was an exchange
of business cards and networking over a cup of cappuccino and light snacks.
