CHRISTEL VAN HEERDEN WINS THE MARGARET HIRSCH WOMEN IN BUSINESS (CENTURION) 2014 ACHIEVER AWARD


Christel van Heerden, the owner of Lemon Jack Musical Studio, and Guest House in Centurion, was recently announced as the Margaret Hirsch Woman in Business Achiever of the Year in Centurion. 
 
 
One of ten finalists, Christel received the award from Margaret Hirsch, COE of the Hirsch Group, at a Gala Evening held at the Hirsch Centurion branch and attended by over 150 Centurion business women.  Margaret awarded Christel the prize – a R10, 000 Hirsch Voucher – as she has managed to “live her passion” Said Margaret “Christel has a very good business brain and she has used it to live her passion – music, entertainment and the accommodation industry.  She has created businesses that she loves and is able to make a living from.  Added to this, she is a lovely person who understands the importance of giving back to the community.”
 

The award for first runner up went to Dorothy Wye, Editor of the Centurion, followed by second runner up Carina Nel, CEO of the Fashion and Style Club.

An additional award, the Community Business Woman Excellence Award went to Councillor Ina Strijdom for her exceptional contribution to the people of Centurion, winning her a R1000 voucher and a dishwasher sponsored by SMEG.

 Margaret Hirsch, one of South Africa’s most influential  business women and the winner of several business awards herself, presented the Awards to the finalists who were chosen from hundreds of contestants during 2014. Other finalists were:     Anthea Ambursley (Anansi Business Enterprises CC), Elize Maré (Elize Maré Photography), Maryke Deidrè Roets (Earth Angel Clothing Gauteng), Natascha Aweh (The Computer Guyz), Anita Fivaz (Fivaz Incorporated cc).

 Guests at The Gala Awards Evening were treated to a performance of Latin Dancing by Ryan Hammond - Winner of Strictly Come Dancing – of the Beverley Hammond School of Dance. He was joined by his partner Angelique Allison.  The theme for the evening, the “Red Dress Gala” gave the ladies a chance to don their red eveningwear – and added a touch of glamour to the event.
